Why camp at Brynhaul?

We have no shame in wanting to share this space with you. Time after time, friends and guests comment on the view, now we would like you to experience what we have for the last 39 years.

Facilities: On site are 4 good gas showers, a covered area with washing up facilities and a reasonable amount of fridge and freezer space. Each pitch has its own eco waterless loo, a bench table, a fire pit and the freedom to explore the hedges for Blackberries, bilberries, sloes, hazelnuts, or whatever else is edible. We provide a car free environment (other than set up and take down) so playing is safe, and there is a mown area for a kickabout in the middle of the field. There is a neighbouring field for exercising owners (and dogs!!).

‘Brynhaul’ meaning ‘Sun Hill’ – is a tranquil, off grid, clover field campsite, that nestles beside hedgerows. Your heart will thrill at being this close to the Preseli Mountains, just two miles to the highest point in Pembrokeshire, and just a short drive to the sea. A view that will take your breath away.

Escape the crowds

We love Pembrokeshire – this is our way of sharing it with you!

So this is Brynhaul: The highest campsite in Pembrokeshire! You get to be one of the very few people who camp in this quiet, seven acres of gently re-wilding clover pasture fields, situated on the edge of Foel Cwm Cerwyn (Preseli Top).

With only 10 camping pitches, 3 camper van pitches and our 2 luxury, self contained, shepherds huts you are guaranteed plenty of space. From Brynhaul you enjoy panoramic views of the Preseli hills and the rural landscape of Pembrokeshire.

Having lived here forever!! We, have extensive knowledge and experience of Pembrokeshire’s outdoor activities. Being just 20 minutes from the sea, we are centrally located for all of its 186 miles of beautiful beaches, coastline and villages along with some of Ceredigion’s too. We love trying to make your adventure the best ever, so please ask us.

Clover field camping: Pitches are sprinkled around the clover field, separated by long grasses creating cosy enclosures. They are large enough for your tent, the kids tents and even a doggie tent if you have one! and still have room to enjoy the camp fire, experience amazing sunsets, star gaze, fly a kite or encounter wildlife. Each pitch has its own eco waterless loo, a bench table, a fire pit and easy access to drinking water.

So whether you’ve come to walk the rolling Preseli hills or the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline, cycle through the country side, explore our coves, beaches and castles, browse in shops and galleries, fly a kite or just to chill out, Brynhaul Camping and Shepherds Huts, up in the Preseli Hills is the place for you – question is, when are you coming?

Things to note

From Brynhaul a short 15 minute walk gets you either, onto the hills, or into Maenclochog village’s café, friendly pub, play park or Sarah’s shop, well stocked with fresh bread, local meats and groceries. We are a short drive from Narberth, Newport or Fishguard.

Can hardly wait to see you soon at Brynhaul.

Elfrys & Steve

There are 13 pitches – 3 of them hardened for campervans or mobility vehicles.

Each pitch has its own loo.

Everyone is spaced apart and lots of room to explore.

There are hot showers, a freezer and limited charging points for the dreaded mobile (or other light equipment).

Each pitch has a fire pit, a bench table and its own eco loo.

Steve and Elfrys have extensive knowledge of Pembrokeshire and are happy to be asked – we also have maps (if no one else has borrowed them).

We aim to have the occasional ‘cook out’ of some sort at a sensible cost.

We are a car free site (other than set up and take down if conditions allow) – there are barrows to get your things to and from your site.

We have limited wifi – but I’m sure you didn’t come to stay connected to the rat race
